The current definition of pathological gambling includes individuals who are strongly involved in lotteries.

In the world, lotteries are run on telecommunications networks. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) Executive Vice Chairman, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, said the Lottery can be conducted through telecommunications infrastructure. However, adding this service to the networks would increase the burden on the network and the quality of services it offers. Furthermore, the proceeds of lotteries go to charity and are tax-beneficial to the government.
